The resistive touch is a cost effective solution, this is activated by a stylus, finger or gloved hand. It can also function even if damaged.

The capacitive touch is durable and resistant to scratches for demanding applications. This is faster and more responsive, and is immune to surface contaminants. It also has superior optical clarity, brighter display and less surface reflection.
